Give it 100 - days 19 & 20

Day 19 - Today was a good example of why I committed to 15 minutes of exercise daily; I was so tired when I woke up, but knowing I only had 15 minutes required, I got up and ended up doing 20 minutes of body weight strength building exercises.

Day 20 - Bad day. I woke up at 4:30 am to go for the 17 miler I had planned for the Cedar River Trail. Problem was, it was REALLY dark, and rain started coming down quite heavily, and the wind was blowing it sideways. I actually sat in my car for 30 minutes trying to mentally psych myself up to get going, but after 30 minutes of watching it pour I said "forget it" and drove home. :-(  It ended up being a good thing because had I ran the 17 miles, I would have been useless during the huge garage sale I was helping with and cleaning up after for 5+ hours. I never got an official 15 minutes in of workout time, but I worked my tail off at the garage sale (especially the clean up) so I'm saying it counts. :-P

Give it 100 - days 17 & 18

Day 16 - once again, best laid plans fail; planned to get up and do H.I.I.T., but with a sick kid, I couldn't. So I went walking on my lunch break instead. The streak is still alive!

Day 17 - despite only 4 hours of sleep, I still got up and ran 7 miles for my marathon training. I'm amazed how consistently running can make 7 hilly miles seem a lot easier this week than they were just a few weeks ago.

Give it 100 - day 15 & 16

Day 15 - planned on biking and doing some high intensity interval training, but plan was derailed due to sick child. So instead, I took a 20 minute walk on my lunch break.

Day 16 - ran 5 miles as part of my marathon training. :-)

Give it 100 - day 11, 12 & 13

Day 11 - ran 7 miles

Day 12 - was really tired so decided to walk to Group Health on my lunch to pick up meds rather than get up early and work out. Ended up walking for about 35 - 40 minutes total.

Day 13 - ran 15 miles for 3 hours.

Give it 100 - day 10

Yay!!!  I'm 1/10th of the way there, and I have not given up! Not only have I worked out for at least 15 minutes everyday, but I have logged everything I've eaten, and my weight is consistently 6 pounds lighter than when I started.
Today, I wanted to bike to work but because I have to pick the kids up from my in-laws in Issaquah after work I couldn't. For some reason I was exhausted this morning, too, so I decided I would walk on my lunch break. It was beautiful outside so that worked out well. Even though it might not be as vigorous a workout as biking to and from work, or running, the whole point is that I did it.
I'm proud of me. :-)

Give it 100 - day 9

Did my #1-15 marathon training run this morning totalling 4 miles.

Better still, did a nature scavenger hunt at Lewis Creek Park with the boys. Eli and I loved it, Trevor, not so much. :-) So typical...

Give it 100 - day 8

Biked to work in the a.m., then back home in the p.m.  The scale is reflecting my hard work and I'm feeling it in my clothes also because they're looser. I know I'm setting a good example to the boys as far as the importance of taking care of one's body is concerned. I will only be able to bike to work this week because I have training in Redmond all next week, then school is back in the following week and I will be back on morning kids duty. Oh well. I'm glad I got to do it again this summer.

Give it 100 - day 7

Biked to church with the kids. Weather was beautiful so it was great!

Give it 100 - days 5 & 6

Day 5 - planning for an off day from regular exercise, I had a meeting at the Downtown branch I decided to walk to and from to fulfill my 15 minutes of exercise commitment. Walked there, but was offered a ride back. At 10pm I realized I was short of my 15 minute commitment, so I put on some dance music and had a dance session with my boys. So much fun!!!

Day 6 - ran 13.17 miles with my neighbor, Dolly, up the Cedar River Trail and back. Feeling quite sore...

Give it 100 - days 3 & 4

I forgot to post yesterday, but I biked to work. I wanted to find a safer route than riding up Bellevue Way so I took some back roads that ended up adding an extra mile to my commute. Not good...  I was so exhausted due to lack off sleep and overexertion that I had Ted come pick me up rather than bike home. Fell asleep around 8pm...

Today, I got up and ran 6 miles with Dolly. I'm tired, but I already see results on the scale, my tummy fat is starting to melt off, I can run 3 miles without stopping, and I am eating better. It's amazing how much better I feel.

Give it 100 - day 2

Day 2 - completed marathon training plan, week 16 #1 which consists of speed training for a total of 3 miles. I'm tired... :-)

Give it 100

Saw a website called "Give It 100" where people commit to doing something for 100 days. Consistency had always been a struggle of mine so I thought "why not?" I have 15 pounds to lose and 12 months to lose it so what a better way to start the journey than to commit to 100 days of consistently exercising at least 15 minutes a day? Might seem like not much, but 15 minutes gives me absolutely no excuse to skip out.
Today I biked to work and therefore have to bike home, which will give me 2 hours of exercise total.
