Day 2
Had to take a 4 day hiatus due to coming down with the flu. Felt a lot better today so did a 7 minute workout in the morning, and played Just Dance on the Wii with Eli for 45 minutes. It wasn't a full on workout, but it got my heart rate up. :-)
Told the family that I am going to be focusing on getting 8 hours of sleep. That means being in bed by 9:30 to wind down and fall asleep by 10:00. No screens for 1 hour prior to bedtime. This way I can wake up at 6am to get a workout in.
Taking care of ME.

Give It 100
Day 1
Tired of feeling tired, sluggish, fat, "over 40," and wondering what the point is in trying.
The point is that I want the best quality of life I can have for as long as I can have it. I want to dance for as long as my body allows. I want to enjoy life to the fullest, not waste my hard-earned money on healthcare in retirement, enjoy my children and future grandchildren, and not let my body and/or health keep me from being and doing all I want and am meant to do.

Happiness Project
I have the most amazing boys. They work hard and don't give up. Eli in particular works his little butt off, but Trevor worked hard today too. I'm amazed at all we got done!

Happiness Project
For Eli's birthday, I picked him up from school and we all went to the Family Fun Center. We raced go-carts, jumped on the bungee trampolines, and played video games. It was so much fun, and Eli loved it!
I also realized a trait that Eli has in common with Ted: being conscientious. On his own, he makes sure he's wearing "silky shorts" (athletic wear) and tennis shoes on the days he had PE. He makes sure he has all the right gear for baseball practice. He's a very responsible kid, and I'm impressed by his maturity in that area.

Happiness Project
Helped Trevor write his campaign speech he had to deliver tomorrow. Despite his initial reluctance, by the end he was really excited and doing very well. We'll see how things go tomorrow!
Happiness Project for 3/21
My positive moment for today was when I was able to hold a plank for 30 seconds, and side planks for 30 seconds without stopping. There is something about realizing your body is growing stronger and stronger. Even though the number on the scale is not dropping as quickly as I would like for it to, I have to believe I'm doing what is best for my body and that in time the results will come.

Happiness Project for 3/20
Trevor said tonight that when he has free time he wants to spend it praising God. When we did prayers tonight at bedtime, Eli thanked Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins. Their relationships with God seem very real and I hope they both continue to grow closer to God continually.
Happiness Project for 3/19
Had a date night with Ted tonight. We always have so much fun together and it is so great to reconnect.

Happiness Project
We went to Briarwood's McTeacher Night where we saw Seth (and Jennifer), the Rothmans, and Zach (and Sarah). It was really great to catch up.

Happiness Project
Today was Eli's first practice for coach pitch Pony League baseball. I was concerned about how he would do because he hasn't played organized team sports in a few years, and he's on a team that is coached by a very competitive coach who knows Trevor, so I didn't know what expectations would be put on him. Evidently I had nothing to worry about; he did great! He's an amazing kid and he takes direction well, so he's going to be just fine. :-)

Happiness Project
Trevor had baseball practice this evening, and since Ted had the night off he was coaching Trevor's team. This left me and Eli alone together. We had a great time playing Skip-Bo and Monopoly, and it was some great one on one time. :-)

Happiness Project
My positive experience for today I noticed that Trevor longer makes a big fuss about cleaning dishes up after a meal. When I asked him to help me unload the dishwasher, he came right over and just started helping with no complaining or eye rolling. I thanked him for being so helpful, and he said he just wants to get it done as quickly as possible and complaining doesn't help. :-)

Why not? The Happiness Project
My positive experience today was going running with Dolly. With daylight savings kicking in yet not being able to fall asleep until after 1 a.m., I was worried about being able to wake up to go running as I had promised Dolly. I made it up though and we had a good 3 mile run with no walking.
